NCGA Hall of Fame member Joe Louis Barrow, Jr. received the William D. Richardson Award on April 9 at the Golf Writers Association of America Annual Awards dinner. The William D. Richardson Award has been given annually since 1948 to recognize an individual who has consistently made an outstanding contribution to golf.
Studio Golf SF, a father-son owned bar and grill centered around golf to be located on the mezzanine of 350 Mission Street in San Francisco, plans on opening this summer.
The establishment, which counts 2024 PGA Korn Ferry Tour winner Matt McCarty as an investor, will feature three top-of-the-line golf simulators with large displays, costing upwards of $60,000 apiece that will allow players to hit real balls. Sensors will provide metrics on ball spin and other aspects of a player’s swing. Count us as among those excited to check it out.
