When asked what the Colorado Golf Association (CGA) does, many respond that they handle GHIN numbers, run championships, or know everything about the Rules of Golf. Although the CGA does all of this, our youth programming is the most significant thing missing from that list.
For almost twenty years, the CGA has worked with partner organizations like Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Special Olympics, ARCH—Children’s Hospital of Colorado, and more. This year was no different, as they worked with seven different organizations and over 150 participants.
In addition to working with partner organizations, our Golf in Schools program took golf into the classroom. Working with 15 schools and hosting five field trips and three field days, over 1,000 kids from elementary to high school were exposed to the game of a lifetime.
And don’t forget Youth on Course, which allows kids to play golf for $5 or less at participating courses across the state. In Colorado, over 8,000 kids participated in Youth on Course and played 32,296 rounds in 2024.
The future is bright for the next generation of golfers in Colorado!
