At First Tee – Southern Colorado, the game of golf is more than just a sport—it's a gateway to teaching young people life skills, building character, and providing opportunities for growth. This summer, the Colorado Golf Foundation visited their on-course programming based out of Valley Hi Golf Course in Colorado Springs, and watched this impactful organization use golf to teach valuable lessons in perseverance, confidence, and integrity. Although golf is the focal point, their programming goes beyond the green, shaping young lives with a focus on leadership, respect, and personal responsibility.
We at the Colorado Golf Foundation are proud to support their mission with a $5,000 grant, which helps fund their overall programming supporting over 4,000 youth from Colorado Springs to Pueblo County. This grant allows First Tee to continue offering scholarships, provide access to affordable equipment, and create accessible programming for kids who may not have otherwise had the opportunity to experience the game of golf and the valuable life lessons that come with it.
But First Tee’s success depends on more than just financial support. Volunteers play a crucial role in making these programs thrive. Whether you're helping with on-course instruction or mentoring young golfers off the course, your time can make a meaningful difference in a child's life. Never volunteered before? No problem! First Tee provides training to ensure volunteers feel confident and empowered to give back to the community.
If you’re passionate about supporting youth development and want to be part of an amazing program, we encourage you to get involved.
