We are proud to feature TPC Colorado, a remarkable semi-private course that has quickly become a favorite in the region. Located in Berthoud, TPC Colorado is not only home to prestigious tournaments but also a host to memorable CGA events, including one of the CGA Member Play Days and the newly established CGA Mid-Amateur Match Play Championship.
TPC Colorado is the only PGA TOUR-managed course in the state, and it hosts The Ascendant presented by Blue, a Korn Ferry Tour event. Designed by Arthur Schaupeter Golf Course Architects, the course seamlessly blends championship-level golf with playability, offering a unique experience for both professional and recreational golfers alike. This layout combines challenging features with stunning views of the Rocky Mountains and the pristine shorelines of nearby reservoirs.
TPC Colorado stands out not only for its breathtaking location but also for its thoughtfully crafted risk-reward features. Each hole offers players multiple options to approach their game, allowing them to lean into their strengths and strategy. Whether you're looking for a relaxing day on the greens or are gearing up to tackle the same course PGA TOUR players compete on, TPC Colorado delivers.
Stretching over 7,991 yards from the tournament tees, the par-72 course is designed to challenge the best while being playable for all skill levels, thanks to its wide fairways and seven sets of tees ranging from 4,157 yards. The course winds through a mixture of elevated ridges with panoramic views and holes nestled along the shoreline, offering golfers a taste of both Colorado's natural beauty and the Scottish heritage of the game.
Each hole at TPC Colorado has its own name and personality, but a few are particularly notable:
- Hero’s Alley (No. 3): A classic risk-reward challenge. Players can choose to play it safe with an iron or hybrid shot into a generous fairway protected by stacked sod bunkers or take the aggressive route, going for the green with a longer shot over water. This strategic hole embodies the thrill of calculated risk.
- Revelation (No. 8): Nestled in the only tree grove on the course, this par-3 requires controlled trajectory to avoid being affected by Colorado’s swirling winds. The green is perched on a peninsula, surrounded by water on all sides, making accuracy essential for avoiding a costly splash.
- Longer Still (No. 13): At 773 yards, this hole is one of the longest par-5s in North America and the longest on any PGA TOUR course. It demands power, precision, and smart decision-making, especially when navigating the 108-yard “Hell Bunker.”
- Center Stage (No. 16): A visually stunning par-3, this hole is stadium-style, designed to gather a crowd and create dramatic moments. Though it measures only 140 yards, the stacked sod bunkers and an elevated teeing area add to the complexity, while the views of the surrounding reservoirs and mountains make it one of the most photographed holes on the course.
Schaupeter designed TPC Colorado with the idea of creating a balance between strategic depth and enjoyment. “The combination of highly strategic and completely playable golf holes will create a thoroughly enjoyable golfing experience for all,” says the architect. Every detail, from the fairway contours to the green slopes, has been crafted to challenge tournament players while remaining accessible to all.
Non-members can experience this exceptional course with starting times available four days in advance from Monday to Wednesday, based on availability. Thursdays through Sundays are reserved for TPC Colorado members and the TPC Network, with any open times available 24 hours in advance.
Ranked #89 on Golf Digest’s America’s Greatest Public Courses in 2021 and voted the 4th best course you can play in Colorado by Golfweek in the same year, TPC Colorado is a world-class venue that continues to attract attention. It was also named Golf Inc.’s 2020 Development of the Year Winner.
We are honored to host CGA events at this extraordinary venue and look forward to returning in the future. Whether you're chasing birdies or just enjoying a round with friends, TPC Colorado offers a memorable golf experience that will leave you planning your next visit.
