Kohler, Wisconsin is adding another course to its repertoire, as ground broke on Purebred Farm in October. The 14-hole, walking-only layout will be part of the Blackwolf Run complex, which currently consists of the River, Meadow Valleys and Baths courses. It will measure approximately 5,000 yards and feature par 3s, 4s and 5s. The construction and design is being done by King Collins Dormer (KCD) out of Chattanooga, Tennessee, with a tentative opening date of summer/fall 2027. Along with the Straits and Irish tracks at Whistling Straits, the construction brings the resort’s total number of courses to six.

Following a successful launch in 2025, the CDGA and Chicago Police Department (CPD) will seek to strengthen their alliance in 2026 through a variety of new initiatives. Spearheaded by CPD Superintendent Larry Snelling (pictured), the partnership launched in 2025 with three Play Like a Champion Youth Golf Days at different Chicago Park District facilities. These will return in 2026 and will be complemented by a junior scramble league where CPD officers serve as coaches, an equipment distribution program for underserved youth and a competitive golf series for CPD officers. These programs will be supported by the Chicago Park District, Troon and Wintrust.
