I have always enjoyed cooking on a smoker. My experience has always been with a wood smoker while spending the day tending to the tinder box, attempting to maintain the temperature while checking the tinder box every twenty to thirty minutes or so. It was an enjoyable but very time-consuming process. Que in the Camp Chef Woodwind Pro.
I recently picked up the new Camp Chef Woodwind Pro with the Sidekick. The first time that I cooked on the WoodWind Pro – The Sky’s opened up and the angels sang! WOW! This pellet smoker gives you so much control of time, temperature and flavor. I cannot get enough of it. I have been cooking on my Camp Chef all summer long smoking brisket, pork roasts, vegetables, jalapeno poppers and so much more with no end in sight. There was no more hovering over the smoker to make sure that the temps were correct and maintained. I set the temperature, filled the hopper with hickory pellets placed a pork butt on the smoker low and slow and went to the beach for a few hours! If that is not enough and you want to maintain a little more control over your smoker – You can use the Bluetooth feature and monitor what you are smoking right through your phone.
If you would like to enhance the smokey flavor to whatever you are cooking, you can add wood chunks, wood chips or char coal to the smoke box. You can add any type of wood. Hickory, mesquite, apple, cherry – whatever your pallet desires.
The Sidekick mounts easily to the Woodwind Pro by replacing the side shelf with the Sidekick. This is a really nice edition to your smoker. It operates off of propane but you can boil corn or whatever else you would like cook or you can use the fry-top feature to cook a steak, make bacon, eggs, pancakes – you are only limited by your imagination. The Woodwind Pro24, Sidekick package gives you everything that you would need to create an outdoor feast for family and friends.

I have been using cast iron cook wear from GSI Outdoors for a long time. I recently purchased their 10 inch Deep Fryer with the lid and as usual, I am extremely happy with the product. I have been cooking with it all summer long on my firepit. It is such a versatile addition to your cooking arsenal. It is a deep-dish frying pan with a number of applications but I have used it as a small Dutch oven as well. The actual measurements are 16.1”x10.6”x5.3” and weighs 8.1 pounds. Yes, I know. But if you are accustom to cooking with cast iron, this is light weight.
The Guidecast Deep Fryer has a corrosive resistant finish. It has a polished interior for easy cooking and cleaning. Although I prefer to use it to cook outdoors on an open fire, it cooks just as well indoors. I am very happy with the performance.
