Since discovering her passion for hunting in 2008, Larysa Switlyk has dedicated her life to promoting the outdoor lifestyle and educating the public about how hunting contributes to the conservation of wildlife through her self-produced television shows, "Larysa Unleashed" and the new, "Unleashed Global Adventures." Larysa has also challenged herself on many difficult hunts in some of the most remote places of the world in extremely dangerous conditions. She does all of this for the purposes of promoting the values of hunting and demonstrating how it contributes to the conservation of wildlife around the world.
The once certified public accountant (she still maintains her certification) now professional hunter, Larysa has paved her path in the outdoor industry over the years through hard work and determination. Under the umbrella of her Production Company Larysa Unleashed, LLC, she debuted her hunting and fishing show “Larysa Unleashed†on National TV in 2013 on NBC Sports with these episodes now airing internationally and is subtitled in several languages.
Larysa has received numerous hunting awards and accolades since becoming a professional hunter. She has won awards for her video productions and graced the covers of numerous hunting magazines over the years. She has shared her passion for hunting and conservation with other female outdoorsmen especially and has hosted many hunts and events that promote women in the outdoors.
Larysa has traveled to over 60 countries and hunted over 100 different species of big game animals while documenting everything along the way. Through all of her hunting and travel experience, in 2017 she opened a hunting consulting company called Unleashed Global Adventures so she could assist clients to book hunting and fishing trips around the world with the best outfitters that she had met, hunted and fished with during her own, personal adventures. Larysa launched a new television show in 2023 called Unleashed Global Adventures, to showcase what her audience should expect on the many hunting and fishing adventures that her service offers. New episodes will be airing this Fall on The Pursuit Channel and Wild TV!
Larysa donates her time to multiple nonprofit organizations, taking children with terminal and life-threatening illnesses as well as combat wounded veterans out on various hunting and fishing adventures. In her never-ending quest to make more of an impact, she recently launched a new nonprofit, Unleashed Outdoor Education and Wildlife Conservation Inc. This nonprofit’s mission is to bring more people into the outdoors, educating them about wildlife conservation. Some full-length wildlife documentaries are in the works and will be entered into film festivals in the very near future!
Unleashed Outdoor Education and Wildlife Conservation Inc is already involved and making a local impact! Larysa recently had the honor of presenting a $500 donation to the Myakka Elephant Ranch from the Safari Club International Tampa Chapter and then to everyone’s surprise, Her non-for-profit matched the donation. Through these donations, this ranch raises enough money to care for their elephants as well as send a large donation to the International Elephant Foundation to help preserve these elephant’s native habitats and set up anti-poaching units to protect them from being poached for their ivory.
Larysa has also teamed up with Amy Bell Charities and Safari Club International Foundation to participate in their “Pay it Forward†Blue Bag Program. On recent African safaris, she brought much needed medical and school supplies, as well as provided meat from her hunts to feed many villagers in areas that most people would never visit.
Larysa has purchased supplies for a school deep in the jungles of Zimbabwe that was designed and constructed solely through hunter’s donations for children of the local Park Rangers and Patrolmen who are employed by the area’s Anti-Poaching Unit. The money spent by hunters coming to the area go directly back into the community, and together with the support of the local government, the children of the staff members that work to protect the hunting areas and look after the animals, are able to get a quality education.
This is just the beginning for Larysa. In the near future she hopes to make an even larger impact through the work of her nonprofit. Money raised will go towards educating the public on wildlife conservation and the importance of the role hunters play in it. Funds will also be put towards protecting natural habitats to preserve and protect all wildlife! Additionally, in a world with so much technology at your fingertips, Larysa will help to remind the public that it's healthy to get disconnected from it and encourage more people to spend time in the outdoors enjoying it without any interruptions! She plans to sponsor people to give them the opportunities to experience all the outdoors has to offer as well as learn different outdoor skills they can pass on!
