It is not often that you have the opportunity to speak to a man of conviction. He has stood steadfastly and stared into the face of adversity and embrace the higher principle. The former Milwaukee County sheriff David Clarke spoke to me at length about the lawlessness and blatant disrespect for the rule of law that we have witnessed in today’s society. Major US cities such as Portland, Seattle, Chicago and Manhattan where crime is running rampant and the wheels of justice are not running at all.
“Riots in cities across America are causing death and injury to police and citizens alike resulting in hundreds of millions of dollars in property damage”.
Throughout this lawlessness our elected officials have turned a blind eye. Sheriff David Clark reaffirms his position that the youth of today are in need of discipline and respect. “This is due to ineffective parenting and in some cases, no parenting at all”. We have witnessed our youth breaking the law without remorse, without fear of consequence while protesting to defund the police.
The fact that in 2020 three hundred and seventy law enforcement officers were killed in the line of duty while trying to maintain law and order and not one media outlet has even attempted to whisper this fact is not only shameful, it is disgraceful. These brave men and women put their lives on the line every day to keep communities across American safe while the politicians release violent criminals from our jails and prisons.
“The fact that violent offenders are being released from prison, free to roam the streets and terrorize neighborhoods without repercussion is reprehensible. We are not in need of police reform. We need to get them off the streets so civil life can return to normal. We need to allow the police to do their job”.
As if defunding the police was not enough both New York and California have broken new ground, opening the door, allowing shooting victims to sue gun manufacturers.
“If I get into an automobile and I drive drunk, if I kill somebody, we do not allow people to sue the auto manufacturer or the dealer for selling that car. We punish the drunk driver. The same thing should apply with guns. As long as the firearms was sold legally, it should be the individual that is liable. Not the manufacturer.”
It seems that we will always have to fight on our hands where our second amendment rights are concerned. We are fighting for the rule of law, the right to defend ourselves and the right to bear arms. This is a constant. Stand fast and stand as one, patriots. We win this fight together.
