Julianne Moore plays a hostess who may be monstrous
COMEDY-DRAMA An irresistibly silly, rapid-boil melodrama, Sirens starts with Julianne Moore draped in a vaguely Grecian gown, standing on a cliff and releasing a falcon into the air. She’s Michaela Kell, a socialite with earth-mother tendencies, and she inspires slavish adulation in both her rich friends and her assistant Simone (House of the Dragon’s Milly Alcock). But Simone’s tough, cynical sister (The Perfect Couple’s Meghann Fahy) thinks the Kell clique is a cult and resolves to haul Simone back home to Buffalo. A terrific cast acts the hell out of this thing. (Launches May 22)
REALITY Couples embarking on the emotional challenge of therapy, says psychoanalyst Orna Guralnik, “have to block the exits”—have to stop dodging the pain in their relationships. That dynamic is at the heart of this riveting series, back with nine new episodes. (Launches May 23)
