Regent Seven Seas Explorer—All-Inclusive Elegance at Sea
By Deserae del Campo
With its intimate carrying capacity of just 746 passengers, the
Regent Seven Seas Explorer
allows for an unmatched sense of exclusivity, where personalized service and attention to detail are woven into
every aspect.
On board, passengers will find all-suite accommodations, gourmet dining options, exceptional service and the hallmark of
Regent’s
offerings—its all-inclusive amenities.
Every aspect of the ship is designed to deliver the utmost in luxury, ensuring that guests can enjoy the finest indulgences without ever needing to think about the minutiae.
After immersing myself in Regent’s offerings while sailing on the first portion of an 18-day cruise that departed from Vancouver before sailing to Alaska and then crossing the Pacific Ocean to Japan, it’s clear that the true luxury here isn’t just about amenities—it’s about creating a cruising experience that feels tailor-made for each traveler.
ROOM
Luxury Defined
“Regent’s version of ultra-luxury is that we offer an all-inclusive experience,†says Steve Odell, Chief Sales Officer for Regent. “On Regent, you can unpack and leave your [wallet] in your room because you won’t need it when you’re here.â€
Your clients will appreciate the convenience of enjoying specialty restaurants, unlimited beverages, complimentary WiFi, laundry service and expertly crafted excursions—all included in the fare.
From the moment you step on board, the atmosphere is calm, refined and intimate. Every corner of the ship, from the common spaces to the exquisite dining venues, exudes a sense of careful craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail.
STAIRWAY
Exploring the Explorer
The
Explorer
offers heavily stylish, comfortable and exquisite suites that cater to every type of traveler. Even for solo travelers or those looking for a “standard†room, the attention to detail in all suites is exceptional.
During my 5-day stay, I had the privilege of calling the 332-sq.-ft.
Concierge Suite
home. The spacious layout provided plenty of room to unwind, while thoughtful touches like the set of binoculars perfect for birdwatching during excursions elevated the experience. Other amenities include L’Occitane bathroom products, plush bathrobe and slippers, an illy Espresso Maker and cashmere blankets that come in handy while lounging on the balcony on those cold Alaskan mornings and evenings.
Another top recommendation—especially for solo travelers—is the 219-sq.-ft.
Veranda Suite
, which features a plush king-sized bed, a marble-and-stone bathroom with a glass-enclosed shower and a comfortable seating area for relaxation. Guests staying in this suite also enjoy included laundry service, WiFi and 24-hour room service—ensuring convenience at every turn.
One of the standout features of the
Explorer
is the breathtaking artwork that adorns the ship. For instance, outside the 4,443-sq.-ft.
Regency Suite
, guests are greeted by two Picasso paintings. This attention to artistic detail is evident throughout the ship, where every corner, wall and suite reveal carefully curated pieces that enhance the luxurious
onboard ambiance.
The architecture and design, too, create an ambiance that is both opulent and inviting. At the heart of this grandeur is the sweeping main staircase, crowned by a stunning, glittering chandelier that captures the eye from every angle. This breathtaking focal point not only adds a sense of elegance but also sets the tone for the refined spaces that follow.
The ship offers a range of amenities, including a rejuvenating spa with an infinite pool, a fitness center, a library, a casino, a lounge bar to sip and savor specialty cocktails, the
Connoisseur Club
and a variety of entertainment options. Whether enjoying a live performance in the
Constellation Theatre
or unwinding by the pool and hot tubs, guests are sure to find something that resonates with
their tastes.
PACIFIC RIM RESTAURANT
The dining options aboard are nothing short of exceptional, catering to every palate and preference. We had the privilege of dining at each of the ship’s restaurants. Personal favorites include
Pacific Rim
where guests are treated to a tantalizing journey through Pan-Asian cuisine (the restaurant’s entrance features a striking Tibetan prayer wheel).
For a more casual yet equally delightful meal, the
Pool Grill
offers a menu filled with favorites like pizza, lobster nachos, hamburgers, hotdogs, seafood options and sandwiches.
La Veranda
impresses with its breakfast and lunch buffets (in the evening the space transforms into the
Italian Sette Mare at La Veranda
). For steak lovers,
Prime 7
serves expertly prepared steaks in an elegant setting. Each of these specialty restaurants not only elevates the dining experience but also allows guests to savor the luxury and variety that Regent is known for.
Passenger Profile & Ship Itineraries
When considering Regent, it’s important to recognize the demographic of its passengers. The ship attracts affluent travelers—a majority of whom are Baby Boomers—with a high disposable income who appreciate the luxury and all-inclusive nature of the experience. Many of these guests are also repeat customers.
Introduced earlier this year is Regent’s
Immersive Overnight
voyages, which include overnight stays in every port of call. According to Odell, the cruise line introduced this concept to attract new-to-cruise passengers.
“We started developing these itineraries for 2024 and 2025,†says Odell. “In the beginning, we had seven and have added eight more because it’s so successful. Some of these special evening excursions include seeing the city at night or experiencing dinner at a top local restaurant.â€
Odell says these new overnight stays are also popular with Regent’s repeat customers. “I think the fact that we’ve added eight more of them shows that it’s resonated and it’s working,†he adds.
