10 Hot Reasons to Book Alaska
By Paloma Villaverde de Rico
ONE
1.
Alaska
offers so much—there’s truly something for everyone in your client base to do. Just think of the sheer size of this state—if you put a map of Alaska over a map of the lower 48 states, Alaska would stretch east to west from Savannah, Georgia to Los Angeles, and south to north from the Texas Panhandle to the top of North Dakota. To make it simpler to wrap one’s mind around it, divide the state into five regions: Southcentral, where glorious landscapes—from beaches to mountaintops to fjords—take your breath away; the Interior, home to mesmerizing Denali; the Arctic, where the wintertime Northern Lights dance above the snowy tundra; the Southwest, where the wild things live amidst Alaska’s islands, river deltas and mountains; and the Inside Passage in the southeastern part of the state, with its breathtaking rainforests and glaciers. Think beyond the obvious, too, because Alaska is not just a summer getaway. The state’s winter activities run the gamut, too, as you’ll see in entry #2.
