“Casa de Campo is more than a hotel—it’s a destination within a destination, that offers clients a range of activities and options in one safe and secure environment,” says Vielka Deguidi, CMP, HMCC, Sr. Director of Group Sales, Casa de Campo Resort & Villas. “We offer activities such as golf, horseback riding, shooting, the largest racket center in the Caribbean offering pickleball and tennis, a private beach and a private marina, where clients have the option to do full-day or half-day fishing excursions or sunset cruises on a private catamaran.”
In 2025, the resort will embark on a major restoration of its renowned Teeth of the Dog golf course. The Pete Dye-designed 18-hole course opened in 1971 and is annually ranked as one of the top golf courses in the world and a bucket list destination for golfers looking to experience the challenges of its layout. The planned restoration will take place between January and December 2025, and will focus on repairing areas that have been eroded by the tropical seaside weather, as well as enhancing the playability of the course with modern construction techniques and materials. One of the most important aspects of the renovation will be to respect Pete Dye’s original vision in terms of layout and strategy, and to preserve his signature style of tight fairways, deep bunkers and risk-reward shots.
“Attendees can spend time in a meeting, and then in a few seconds, they can be doing an activity within the grounds of Casa de Campo,” says Deguidi. “They don’t have to leave the property to have a successful event. We have several unique venues that are not found in any other location, such as the plaza at Altos de Chavon—a replica 16th-century Mediterranean village—where we can do a European night or a Dominican carnival. We have a large entertainment department and everything is designed unique for each group based on what they’re looking for and their goals for the event. We can take their idea, add our own sense of the destination, and turn it into a reality for them.”
Casa de Campo boasts more than 27,000 sf of meeting space across two conference centers as well as a range of unique outdoor spaces. The Marina Riverside Center, set on the shores of the Chavon River, is an indoor/outdoor structure with an open-air tent design and capacity to host up to 1,360 attendees. Groups can also host their event at the resort’s Flamboyan Conference Center, with more than 10,000 sf of space, including two boardrooms, with a capacity for 12-500 persons; or the Cacique Conference Center with almost 9,000 sf of space and capacity to accommodate up to 350 attendees.
The main hotel area of Casa de Campo also offers numerous venues for breakouts, receptions and other group activities such as its main pool deck area, Minitas Beach, Safari Club, Equestrian Center Arena and the Terraza Tennis Center. Meanwhile, the aforementioned Altos de Chavon village also offers distinctive locations such as its Chavon Plaza, Amphitheater and several unique terrace spaces. —Steve Grasso
