Food safety and quality assurance are at the heart of Penn Dining. Our food service provider, Bon Appétit, utilizes rigorous science-based food safety policies and procedures informed by the FDA food code, USDA, CDC, and Philadelphia Department of Health.
If you ever experience an issue with your meal, it is critically important for you to alert a manager, whose names and headshots are posted at the entrance of each dining hall. You can also email Penn Dining directly at dining@upenn.edu. After receiving a notification of a possible issue, our managers work with Bon Appétit’s Food Safety and Quality Assurance team to launch an investigation and swiftly address your concern.
Our Residential Dining locations offer a variety of meal options in an All-You-Care-To-Eat service style. Use your meal swipes upon arrival – each time you enter the café, one visit will be deducted from your balance.
Your meal plan also includes a set amount of Dining Dollars each semester.
Dining Dollars can be used to purchase items from our Retail Dining locations and the University Square Farmer’s Market. They can also be used to cover the cost of a meal at any AYCTE café.
