As we put the holiday season behind us, I wanted to remind you to get your calendars out and plan now to attend SIGMA’s events in 2026. We have had record attendance at SIGMA conferences recently – you don’t want to be the one missing out because you procrastinated!
First up is our Winter Conference February 1-3 in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. This meeting is one of my favorites. Not only do I love the winter ski village setting (and I do like to ski!), but the intimate atmosphere makes it one of the most valuable as far as sharing best practices with peers. Whether during the workshop education, on a lift, or at the bar, it’s easy to hold meaningful conversations and get insights and strategies you can take home and put to immediate use.
After the Winter Conference, we will travel to the Ritz Carlton Los Colinas in Irving, Texas April 28-30 for the SIGMA Spring Conference. Networking, golf, education, and pickleball. This conference has something for everyone. Register early while there are still rooms in the SIGMA hotel block and rates are lower!
In July, we will hold our annual SIGMA Legislative Conference and Day on the Hill. This is an important one. The more people we have attend, the more Members of Congress with whom we can meet. Bring your entire team, especially if you operate in multiple states. With Congress continuing to punt government funding down the road, there may well be issues of importance to SIGMA members that will be under active consideration.
We will close out the year with the SIGMA Annual Conference November 10-12 in Hollywood, Florida. We have lined up a fabulous beach location that will also give us another opportunity for golf – along with top tier networking and education. If you were with us in Nashville this November, you know how outstanding a SIGMA Annual Conference can be. You definitely don’t want to be on the outside looking in, so as soon as registration is open, I encourage you to sign up.
In addition to our in-person events, be on the lookout for more SIGMA webinars as we continue our webinar series, as well as the second course available from SIGMA University, SIGMA’s new online learning platform.
We have a lot on deck for 2026 – I look forward to seeing you soon!
Sincerely,
Matt Ports, Ports Petroleum CompanySIGMA President
