That’s how many more rounds of recreational golf were played in Texas in August of this year compared to August 2019. The 39% increase leads the entire U.S., according to the National Golf Foundation. Approximately 2.7 million rounds of golf were played in Texas during the month of August this year.
Between May-August this year, there were almost 10.6 million rounds played in the Lone Star State. Rounds were up dramatically compared to last year for all three months: May saw a 22.8% increase; June was up 22.6%; July was up 22.1%.
In comparison, Florida saw a 37% jump in August compared to 2019. Arizona experienced a 31% increase. Overall, the U.S. saw a 2% increase in rounds played in August 2020 compared to August 2019.
