Golf is certainly in a boom phase, and participation numbers are up in nearly all demographic categories across the country. According to the National Golf Foundation (NGF), there were a record 545 million rounds played in 2024, surpassing the previous high of 531 million set in 2023.
And here in Texas, it’s obvious we’re doing our part to make sure the good times keep rolling. Per the NGF’s most recent October 2025 report, the number of rounds played in Texas is currently up 3.6% over the previous year.
That shouldn’t surprise anyone who regularly gets out on the course, as tee sheets at TGA member clubs around the state are chock full of eager golfers lining up to enjoy a relaxing round with friends and family or test their skills in a competitive event. As further proof of just how much we love to play, TGA members have posted 5,523,701 rounds from the start of the new year up until two weeks before Thanksgiving. For reference, the USGA reports a total of 74.66 million rounds have been posted in the U.S. through October 31.
(Editor’s note: "Rounds posted" refers to the total number of rounds a player has officially submitted for handicap purposes, while "rounds played" refers to the total number of times a person has played a round of golf, which can include practice rounds, solo rounds, or rounds with rules that don't meet the criteria for posting.)
Below, we shine a spotlight on the Top 15 TGA Member Clubs with Most Rounds Posted from January 1, 2025, through November 15, 2025. These clubs have a combined total of 765,137 rounds posted during the timeframe, accounting for just about 15 percent of the over five and a half million rounds posted by TGA members so far this year.
