The Texas Golf Association and Legends Junior Tour are proud to celebrate the state’s top amateur golfers with the announcement of the 2025 Texas Players of the Year.
Among the top recipients are Christopher Wheeler of Lewisville, who won his third Texas Player of the Year award in six years, and Grace Jin of Huntsville, who earned Texas Women’s Player of the Year honors following an exceptional season in which she captured her second consecutive Women’s Texas Amateur title.
The Player of the Year awards are presented annually to the individuals who delivered outstanding performances throughout the season across designated TGA and LJT regional and statewide competitions, as well as USGA national championships. The awards cover 10 separate categories that serve to recognize Texas’ finest men, women, senior, and junior golfers.
Their achievements reflect not only the incredible diversity of skilled amateur golfers across the state, but also highlights the many competitive opportunities available for players of all ages.
Over the past 12 months, the TGA and LJT staged a combined 46 events featuring a wide variety of formats and experiences. The yearlong schedules took players on a thrilling journey that stretched from the Red River to the Rio Grande Valley, with multiple stops along the way in the major cites of Dallas, Waco, Austin, and Houston. The TGA and LJT are extremely grateful to all the member club tournament partners for their unfailing support and commitment to enhancing the on-site experience of the players year after year.
With thousands of talented golfers representing all regions and age groups around the state, Texas has a well-earned reputation as having some of the most highly competitive events and deepest fields anywhere in the country. It has helped to create a culture of high performance across generations, starting with the juniors and continuing on up through the super senior ranks.
