Centrally located in the heart of the Metroplex, just minutes away from the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, Texas Star Golf Course in Euless pairs convenience with quality and provides a top-notch experience for area residents as well as for travelers either on the front or tail end of their trip.
Designed by renowned golf architect Keith Foster and opened for play in 1997, Texas Star is tucked away on a pristine 275-acre site highlighted by dramatic elevation changes, water features, and heavily wooded surroundings. The secluded nature of the property offers a beautiful escape from the frantic pace of the bustling Mid-Cities region.
Foster, who also designed several other award-winning Texas courses including The Bandit, The Quarry and the Tradition at Cypresswood, took full advantage of the diverse topography in creating a strategically compelling course. The layout boasts a collection of very distinctive holes – many menaced by obvious hazards and others by more subtle obstacles like ridges, grass bunkers, and Scottish links-style eyebrows.
There is a bit of everything at Texas Star, with a wonderful mix of various hole lengths from short to outstretched, left and right doglegs, some wide, generous fairways and several tighter, and different wind directions. Each hole at Texas Star comes with a colorful name, often, like with “Dancing Grass” and “Double Barrel,” giving an indication of the difficulty that lies ahead.
Visually stunning and immaculately conditioned, Texas Star demonstrates an exceptional balance between challenge and playability. With four sets of tees ranging in length from 6,936 yards to 4,962 yards, the beautiful par-71 layout is a delightful test for golfers of all ages and skill levels.
Other amenities at Texas Star include an extensive practice facility with driving range, short game area and putting green, nicely stocked pro shop, great food and drinks at the Raven’s Grille, a large 7,000-square-foot indoor conference center, as well as a spacious outdoor pavilion.
If you’ve never had the opportunity to tee it up at this exceptional facility or are eager to get back for another round, we’ve got some great news. The club will be hosting an upcoming TGA Play Day on Sept. 5.
The event is open to all TGA Members and their friends. It will be a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. and the format for the casual competition is a two-person scramble with gross and net divisions. Entering the competition is optional, for those that would just rather play and not worry about their score. The cost is $90 for TGA Members ($110 for non-members) and includes green fee, cart fee, and range balls.
