Summertime is usually when the TGA’s and Legends Junior Tour’s schedules ramp up with competitions coming one right after the other. And that was mainly the case for this year as well, but with an asterisk. Most events in June and July were completed and worthy champions crowned. However, several tournaments that were to be held in the southeast part of the state were postponed due to Hurricane Beryl.
Now that both the 10th Women’s Stroke Play and Boys 15-18 Division of the 98th Texas Junior Amateur have been rescheduled for September, joining an already busy month that will also include the playing of the 41st Texas Mid-Amateur presented by Hytera US and the 87th Texas Amateur, it’s going to be an action-packed start to the fall season.
With so many meaningful competitions still on the horizon, along with a bonanza of performance points on the line, it promises to be an exciting conclusion to the division races for Texas Players of the Year.
Here’s a snapshot of the standings as of Aug. 12 as players jockey for the top position coming down the stretch. For up-to-date information on Players of the Year standings, go to the Men’s, Women’s and Legends Junior Tour landing pages under the Play drop-down menu on txga.org.
