T
hat’s the eye-popping total number of combined steps tracked for the 52 TGA Members who completed our Golf Fit Challenge last month. We asked you to track your daily/weekly steps through our website and awarded 10,000 bonus steps for every round of golf posted to GHIN.com during the contest.
Jason Lee from Lindale won the grand prize – a year of free golf in our Fun Golf Series – with 706,268 total steps. That total included a whopping 190,000 bonus steps for the 19 rounds of golf he played in March and posted to his GHIN account.
Congrats, Jason! We’re not sure which is more impressive: tracking all those steps or getting in 19 rounds of golf last month.
Collectively as a group, the Golf Fit Challenge participants eclipsed 13 million tracked steps in just 31 days! That blew our minds. The total step count is equal to 7,423 miles, which would be like traveling the distance across Texas (Texarkana to El Paso) and back again 4½ times!
In golf terms, the 13,064,162 steps would be similar to playing a 400-yard par 4 a staggering 32,660 times. Great job by everyone who completed the Golf Fit Challenge! For more on this contest, click here.
