As we enter 2017, LUGPA’s ninth year of its membership advocacy, we will continue to reinforce and amplify the collective expertise and dedicated efforts from our entire board, our committee members, and our member practices throughout the United States. We will continue to expand the diversity of involvement of our committee and task force participants. Utilizing the outline of LUGPA’s 2017 strategic plan, our ongoing efforts will be directed toward steadfastly advancing the LUGPA mission and vision goals for providing excellence in patient care, while protecting the vitality of the independent and integrated practice of urology.
We will continue to expand our membership, recognizing that LUGPA comprises a heterogeneous and diverse membership, and will remain dedicated to providing membership value to small, intermediate, and large group practices, inclusive of metropolitan, suburban, and rural practice settings. Although LUGPA’s mission is focused on preserving and protecting the independent integrated model of urological care, there are numerous intricacies that vary from region to region. We plan to continue our regional Integrated Urology Practice Forums that will provide LUGPA practices a geographically convenient, intimate format to engage peer members on unique issues.
In addition to communicating closely with federal and state legislative leadership, we will continue to dialogue with key association and industry executive leadership regarding the ever-changing healthcare environment. Furthermore, we will continue to offer innovative clinical and business integrative educational forums for our membership, both during our annual meeting in Chicago, and during regional meetings throughout the year. Fulfilling and expanding membership needs and offerings, respectively, will always be a priority of the LUGPA Board of Directors.
Lastly, and most importantly, I want to express my gratitude and appreciation on behalf of our Board and all of our membership, for the outstanding dedication, leadership, and effort by Gary Kirsh, who has been an exemplary President of LUGPA for the past 2 years. I, and the LUGPA Board, look forward to the opportunities and challenges of the rapidly evolving US healthcare environment; we will be vigilant in providing recommendations and guidance for our membership’s successful navigation. Thank you for your continued support.
