“Our biggest challenge is the return-to-office initiative that we introduced recently,” shared Paul Gregory, chief people and culture officer for Securonix, in our new website column CHRO Corner. And he is not alone, with 90% of employers planning RTO mandates in 2024, according to ResumeBuilder.com. Gregory’s approach positions RTO as a valuable change enhanced by office improvements like social committees, events, and sports teams, as well as a continued offering of flexibility that today’s employees have come to expect.
Gregory is joined by Toni-Ann M. Sforza, COO and former CHRO of Municipal Credit Union, and Logan Carmichael, chief people and culture officer for Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority, as featured guests of our new column.
“Right now, driving and leading culture change is a top priority for us,” shared Sforza. “To ensure MCU establishes itself as a high-performing organization, we started with focusing on our employee experience, identifying the components that employees seek when working together to create a culture of high-performing individuals.” By leveraging a calendar of engagement events, employees are empowered with transparency around development and career opportunities.
Carmichael shared that the organization strived to achieve pay equity and hit their goal by formalizing pay structures based on roles and responsibilities. “We were not only able to provide equitable pay but increase our salaries to competitive market rates and ensure we achieve our desire to pay above market wages.” These three senior HR leaders offered even more insider insight around their top HR initiatives that are driving business results. CHRO Corner puts a spotlight on today’s HR leaders, providing a space to share their top challenges as well as successes. Be sure to check out their interviews and keep an eye out for many others that will come out in future weeks.
