This fall, Honda Financial Services (HFS) introduced five new Honda Care branded ancillary products to offer your customers a complete suite of vehicle protection options. These new products offer your dealership additional sales opportunities and are also powerful retention tools. “We now have a complete package of products to offer that are backed by the Honda name, and that carries weight with Honda customers,†says Jon Eldridge, assistant vice president of Sales and Marketing, American Honda Finance Corporation (AHFC).
The products are administered by Safe-Guard Products International, a leading provider of vehicle protection products. Safe-Guard reports that service retention with branded products is 13 percentage points higher than with generic, nonbranded products. “Because our dealers do a great job of taking care of their customers, we know that vehicle maintenance can enhance retention,†Eldridge says.
“The goal for all of these products is to support sending these customers back to their originating dealership, or to an authorized Honda dealer,†he explains. Honda parts installed by a Honda certified technician can give the customer added confidence in the service or repair and more affinity for the dealership and the brand. The dealer gets not only the initial F&I sale but also the opportunity to continue earning that customer’s business in the service department.
