Hello and happy June – or as we like to say in the credit union – happy Q2.
There’s a lot going on in the financial world these days, inflation not being the least of them. While interest rates are projected to remain high initially, we will see a gradual decrease as inflation slows. I hope we will see a soft landing and low growth throughout 2023, and a pickup as we lean into 2024, which would make this a very light recession in the grand scheme of things.
Northwest stands ready and able to weather unforeseen circumstances or a challenging economy. In other words, we are prepared as a financial institution to withstand any storm, and we will always have ways to help our members through any hardships.

In my article, The Heart of Member Service, (page 4) I go back in time to my first job as a full-service gas station attendant, and talk about how it crystallized my vision of full-service as I moved through my career.

Our Foundation helped to step up our employee paid volunteer hours and we are well on our way to meeting our goal of 6000 volunteer hours in 2023. See page 12 for the latest on the Foundation efforts to serve children and families in the communities in which we live and work.
