School Uniforms by Tommy Hilfiger opened its doors eight years ago and, in that time, has established itself as one of the premier providers of school uniforms to K-12 schools across the country.
Recently Adam Weil, the CEO of School Uniforms by Tommy Hilfiger, answered a few questions about the company and its mission to Catholic schools. Eight years ago, Mr. Weil launched this uniform program, and they are now serving schools in all 50 states. This Q and A explores what Mr. Weil believes are the key drivers to a successful uniform program and why schools and parents have responded so positively to the fresh approach the company has taken to fill orders quickly.
Q What is the mission behind School Uniforms by Tommy Hilfiger?
Adam Weil: Of course! Our mission has always been to simplify the school uniform ordering process for moms and dads. We understand that school uniforms are crucial to the culture of the schools that require them and that almost every Catholic K-12 school does require them. Not only do the uniforms represent the schools’ culture and brand but are also a key element in how students feel about themselves as individuals and as part of the larger school community. They not only instill a sense of pride and discipline in students but also eliminate any socioeconomic differences that may arise from dressing differently. We are proud of helping to level the playing field and put all students on an equal footing.
“I love being partners with School Uniforms by Tommy Hilfiger. The uniform team is always very helpful for my school’s families and assists them with any concerns. Our students often tell me how comfortable the clothing is and how happy they are wearing Tommy Hilfiger rather than stiff out of fashion uniforms.”

As for Catholic education, it holds a special place in our hearts. We understand the importance of nurturing values, ethics and compassion in young minds, and Catholic schools have been at the forefront of providing holistic education for centuries. We wanted to contribute to this cause and support the institutions that prioritize character development along with academics.
We are particularly excited about having entered into a deeper partnership with the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA), and we look forward to working closely with them to bring our products and services to a growing number of Catholic K-12 schools across the country.
Q That’s exciting. Can you please share the unique features and design elements that set your school uniforms apart from others?
Adam Weil: Absolutely. Our school uniforms are crafted with utmost care and attention to detail. We believe that comfort and functionality are key, so our fabrics are carefully selected to ensure breathability and durability. We have, in large part, moved away from 100 percent natural fibers due to the risk of pilling, shrinkage and colors fading over time. We have instead focused on fabric blends that look and feel great and also stand the test of time. Students spend a significant part of their day wearing uniforms, so we want them to feel comfortable and confident and to look sharp. Hilfiger is a brand that families have grown up with and love. Many families ordering our uniforms already have Hilfiger apparel hanging in their closets. They know the brand and feel a sense of trust and connection with us. So, it’s a natural progression to be providing Hilfiger uniforms for their students.
Q What is the number one concern about uniforms expressed by school administrators and parents?
Adam Weil: By far, the number one concern expressed by schools and families is order turnaround time. Kids have enough stress to deal with when it comes to school these days, and the last thing the kids and parents should have to worry about is “where is my uniform.” As of August 15, I am proud to say 99.9 percent of our orders went out within our promised timeline and an average of seven business days from order to shipment.
Q Can you share any recent events or milestones that will have a direct impact on how you serve your partner schools?
Adam Weil: Yes. This summer we opened our new distribution facility in Oak Creek, WI, just outside of Milwaukee. This new facility has truly catapulted us to new heights of efficiency and fulfillment capabilities. With our new facility, we have everything in place to handle the demand smoothly and efficiently for many years to come. We are in the business of serving schools, families and students, and we take this responsibility very seriously.
Q That’s truly inspiring! It’s apparent that your philosophy goes beyond just being a clothing provider. As we conclude, is there anything else you’d like to share about the future of your program and its impact on Catholic education?
Adam Weil: I am very proud of the progress we have made with both our products and our services these past few years. Our goal is to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students, teachers and parents alike. We will continue to innovate, expand our product selection and maximize logistical efficiencies to stay aligned with the changing needs of all of our partner schools. We are just getting started!
We’re immensely grateful for the opportunity to partner with so many great schools, and we are proud to be of service.
