Hundreds of spectators surround the fourth green at the 1961 U.S. Women’s Open at Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, N.J., as eventual champion Mickey Wright makes a putt to save par. Wright had a dominating victory, defeating Betsy Rawls by six strokes. This would be her third Women’s Open Championship in four years (and her sixth major), and she would go on to win the Open again in 1964, defeating Ruth Jessen in a playoff.
