I captured this photo of the par-5 18th hole of the Red Course at Streamsong on the first morning of my first trip to the resort in February 2023. I’d arrived late the previous night and hadn’t had a chance to scout the course, so I was going out a bit blind. The grounds crew was scheduled to work on the front nine, so we’d agreed I’d start on the back. A low-level fog had enveloped the course at 6:30 a.m. as I loaded up my golf cart. Working backwards from the 18th hole, I positioned myself to the left of the 17th green and waited. As sunrise approached, some of the fog on the 18th green began to lift, and I launched my new Sony Airpeak drone, mounted with a Sony A7R5 camera and Sony 85mm lens, on what was essentially its maiden voyage. Despite the fog dissipating over the 18th fairway, it continued to blanket not only the balance of the back nine but the other courses as well. It's one of my favorite images I've ever captured as the fog creates the illusion the hole is on the water.
