Despite a 5-over 76 in the opening round of the Georgetown Intercollegiate (Oct. 13-14) at his home club of Echo Lake Country Club, Blake bounced back with a 4-under 67 on Day 2. The low round of the championship propelled Blake into a tie atop the leaderboard, while a match of cards led to his first career collegiate victory. His finish led Georgetown to the team title among 11 teams and earned him Big East Male Golfer of the Week honors.
The Met Area duo teamed up to produce a thrilling sudden-death victory for Stanford in the “Big Match” against the University of California, Berkeley, at Menlo Country Club in Woodside, Calif. Ganne and Greyserman won their regulation match against Marie-Agnes Fischer and another Met-Area player, Charlie Berridge, 3 and 2, but faced the pair again in an extra hole as the overall match stood tied at 3.5-3.5. Ganne drained her birdie putt from 50 feet out, sending her and Greyserman into a celebration. When the Golden Bears’ birdie bid came up short, the Cardinal retained the trophy.
Meanwhile, neither player’s fall highlights end there. Ganne has continued her stellar play following her summer U.S. Women’s Amateur win, helping the U.S. capture the World Amateur Team Championship in Singapore and most recently capturing the Stanford Intercollegiate for her third collegiate win. Greyserman added some success back in the Met Area, earning his first collegiate top-10 finish (tied 6th) at the Hamptons Intercollegiate at Maidstone.
Four birdies over his last nine holes propelled Greyserman to individual medalist honors at the 2025 St. Andrews Links Collegiate, as he posted an 8-under total over two days to win by four shots on the Jubilee Course. The 2025 Ike champion’s 6-under final round tied the Princeton record for low round to par and sparked the team’s rally that propelled them in the team championship match on the Old Course. There, Greyserman won his head-to-head stroke play matchup as Princeton defeated Cal, 4-2, and claimed the team title as well.
Muratore won in style at the Jim DeLapa Collegiate Invitational (Sept. 28-29), sandwiching a career-low 6-under 64 in the second round with a pair of 4-under 66s. His win in the Central Michigan University-hosted event helped the Wolverines to a fourth-place finish while Muratore became just the second University of Michigan men’s golfer to break the 200-stroke mark in a 54-hole event. The victory earned Muratore Big Ten Golfer of the Week honors.
Sessa captured the individual title at the Nittany Lion Invitational (Sept. 21-22) while helping her squad to a third place finish out of 16 teams in the event in State College, Pa. Sessa opened with a 6-under 66 and finished at 5-under 211 for the three-round event to take the two-shot win. The victory also propelled Sessa to Ivy League Women’s Golfer of the Month honors for September.
Metropolis Country Club in White Plains, N.Y., welcomed its first-ever college event, co-hosting the Metropolis Intercollegiate Invitational with Columbia University. The event came together after more than 18 months of planning, with members Marlene Baumann, Mark Canno, and Adam Harris spearheading the project alongside head professional Craig Thomas.
The tournament had no trouble filling the 15-team field and had full support from the club. It welcomed supporting sponsorships from White Plains Hospital, 5 Iron Golf, Cohen & Co., and Tremont Sporting Co., while enlisting MGA staff and volunteers to assist with course setup, signage, and Rules assistance.
Come tournament time, North Dakota State swept the titles, with Metropolis serving as a true championship test for the squads. Rylin Petry (+1/211) claimed the individual title, and the Bison won the team crown after a tiebreaker with Richmond.
