Odyssey calls its latest Chipper “our best one yet” at helping players who struggle with short shots around the greens.
With an updated shape that’s more like a hybrid to inspire confidence at address, the Odyssey Chipper ($179.99) could be the answer to better chips, more up-and-downs, and lower scores.
The step sole is modeled after Callaway’s recent utility- and fairway-wood designs to reduce the amount of ground contact for better turf interaction and cleaner contact. The white polymer face insert frames the ball at address and offers a soft feel with durable grooves.
The Chipper, with 37 degrees of loft and a standard 35½-inch length, has a special longer grip to allow for different hand-placement setups to handle different types of shots from different lies.
