Callaway’s newest game-improvement line is the CB 12, a deep-cavity back wedge series designed to inspire trust and confidence at address.
With a larger head and thicker topline, the CB 12 wedges – so named because of the 12-gram perimeter weighting that boosts forgiveness – are a great option for mid- to high-handicap players who want improved consistency around the green.
“Golfer’s choose game-improvement irons … because they are easier to hit, they’re more forgiving, they have distance technologies, they’ve got wider soles, and everything is built around forgiveness,” said Zach Oakley, Callaway senior product manager. “We’ve clearly identified the need in the market for a wedge. Most players are playing tour wedges that don’t have any of the benefits that we’ve mentioned. This is a game-improvement wedge for the game-improvement golfer who plays cavity back irons.”
The chamfered leading edge on the CB 12 resists digging. Additionally, a forgiving wide tri-sole design makes it easier to handle a variety of shots without sacrificing playability. Plus, the Opus groove platform is applied to these wedges for easy spin and control.
The CB 12s ($179.99 in steel; $189.99 graphite) come in six different loft options – 50, 52, 54, 56, 58 and 60 degrees.
