Odyssey’s new Ai-Dual putter lineup promotes speed consistency and forward roll while a half-ball alignment feature on some models already gained validation with a DP World Tour win this year.
Designed using artificial intelligence, the innovative dual-layer urethane insert has a soft outer layer and a firm inner layer that delivers consistent ball speed across the face. Combined with a new deeper and more aggressive “forward roll design” groove with a 19-degree slope, it enhances forward roll up and down the face, the company says.
The standard length Ai-Dual putters come with a lightweight SL 90 steel shaft with 20 to 30 grams (depending on the grip) of counterbalance weight in the butt end, which tests show promotes more consistent strokes.
Ai-Dual models ($349.99) include Odyssey’s #1 blade, Double Wide, #7 mallet with double bend and slant neck shafts, and a Jailbird Mini.
Odyssey’s newest alignment technology is a ½-ball design on top that frames the ball at address to help center impact and improve aim. Half-ball models include Double Wide, #7 slant neck and the Jailbird Mini. Nacho Elvira used a prototype Jailbird Mini ½-ball putter in winning the Dubai Invitational two weeks ago.
Odyssey also launched Ai-Dual Square 2 Square zero-torque options ($399.99) with center shafts to lift the toe up, a 2-degree built-in forward press to eliminate opening the face and a reverse-taper grip designed to offset the built-in shaft lean and align the leading edges of the grip and putter. Ai-Dual S2S models include #7 mallet, Jailbird and Max ½-ball.
Ai-Dual half-ball alignment is also available in four Cruiser models – #7 double bend and Jailbird ($399.99) and S2S Max and S2S Max Broomstick ($449.99). These styles come with a heavier head, longer and heavier SL140 shaft and a longer 17-inch grip.
