Two new Scotty Cameron OC putters bring low-torque performance and square-path delivery to its mallet and mid-mallet profiles.
The Phantom 11R OC and Studio Style Fastback OC offer “onset center” technology, which refers to the putters’ shaft position set back of the leading edge and in line with its center of gravity. This setup minimizes torque and simplifies the putting stroke.
“In the last few years, we’ve seen a growing number of golfers who want to minimize the feel of face rotation in the stroke via putter setup,” said Austie Rollinson, Scotty Cameron’s senior director of putter R&D. “And as a designer, what excites me most about OC is that it gives golfers options. We now have an entirely new configuration for golfers who want to feel a square, straight-back-and-through path.
In addition to shaft placement, the OC’s design features include chain-link face milling, minimal shaft lean and precisely selected shaft and grip to facilitate a natural transition from traditional putting styles for players seeking reduced face rotation and consistency on the greens without losing connection to the stroke.
“When we went to work on low-torque designs, as with all products, we started with tour player feedback,” said Rollinson. “It became clear that low-torque putters often come at the cost of feel, so we designed our OC models to minimize face rotation while maintaining responsiveness and feedback.”
The Phantom 11R OC ($549) is a stable, high-MOI multi-material mallet design with softer, more rounded edges than the Phantom 11 head and a single alignment line that extends back to the shaft placement.
The Studio Style Fastback OC ($549) is a ring-weighted mid-mallet design with high-contrast alignment. It features a Studio Carbon Steel face insert with a chain-link milling pattern for better feel and roll performance.
Scotty Cameron also introduces the 2025 Studio Xperimental Limited line ($850), an exclusive limited-edition release that gives golfers the opportunity to game two tour prototype-inspired designs – the Squareback 2 and Fastback 2.
With a Steel Gray PVD finish, black nickel-plated Studio Carbon Steel face inserts, I-beam plumbing neck, full contact slim grip, custom-engineered graphite shafts and unique sight-line configurations, the Studio Xperimental Limited compact mallets combine Scotty Cameron craftsmanship with innovative design elements.
“With Studio Xperimental Limited, the combination of our SCS face inserts with chain-link face milling really delivers exceptional feel, roll performance and feedback off the putter face,” said Rollinson. “For this release, we also focused on optimizing the putters’ balance with custom graphite shafts that are stiffer and slightly counterbalanced to give players added stability through the stroke.”
