PRESENTING
MEN’S AMATEUR
It was going to be hard for Jackson Koivun to top his 2024 performance, but the 20-year-old Auburn University player did so, capturing the prestigious McCormack Medal as the leading male in the World Amateur Golf Ranking. In 2025 he won the SEC Men’s Golf Championship Stroke Play and the NCAA Auburn Regional. Koivun’s amateur achievements helped secure professional opportunities. He qualified for his major championship debut at the U.S. Open in June and posted three finishes inside the top 12 on the PGA Tour, at the John Deere Classic, ISCO Championship and Wyndham Championship. He was a member of the winning U.S. Walker Cup team in September at Cypress Point. Koivun earned a PGA Tour card via the PGA Tour University Accelerated program but elected to return to Auburn for his junior year. Other notable performances included 18-year-old Mason Howell winning the U.S. Amateur at the Olympic Club, Oklahoma State’s Ethan Fang capturing the Amateur Championship at Royal St George’s and Mississippi’s Michael La Sasso winning the NCAA Division I Championship at La Costa Resort & Spa.
