Blending cutting-edge technology and construction to deliver precision and versatile performance, Mizuno launches the JPX 925 Forged and Forged Black irons.
The “Cortech Design” at the heart of the JPX 925 Forged series combines the forgiveness of Mizuno’s Hot Metal line with the feel of its single-piece forged irons. The defining feature is what Mizuno calls a “contour ellipse face” – an advanced multi-thickness face profile designed to optimize ball speed across the entire surface to ensure performance and forgiveness even on off-center strikes.
The innovation behind the contour ellipse face requires a proprietary new construction method. The long irons (4-7) in the JPX 925 Forged series are crafted from Chromoly 4120, a material known for its strength and malleability that enables higher ball speeds and easier adjustability. In contrast, the shorter irons (8-GW) are forged from 1025E Pure Select Mild Carbon Steel, which delivers control, precision and the “buttery feel” Mizuno players expect.
Adding to the versatility of the JPX 925 Forged series is a triple-cut sole design paired with optimized weighting. The leading edge is gently bevelled to ensure a clean entry into the turf, while the hard-cut trailing edge facilitates a smooth exit for uninterrupted ball contact.
The JPX 925 Forged series offers two finishes – traditional satin chrome ($200 per club) or a limited-edition reduced-glare black ($215 per club) – and will be available at authorized retailers and online Feb. 3.
