Charlie Jurgonis’ commentary makes some very valid points and should be considered by the PGA Tour (“It’s your honor,” September 2 GGP).
There is so much money available to the pros via FedEx Cup distribution and the Comcast Business bonus in addition to the signature events. The PGA Tour needs to be very careful in allowing the signature events providing non-winners such as Patrick Cantlay, Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth to load up on points and money at the expense of the up-and-comers. It also threatens the viability and TV ratings of the non-elevated events.

This was a very interesting story (“It’s your honor,” September 2 GGP).
It seems to me adjustments should be made to the FedEx Cup points system to enhance the position of all PGA Tour winners and soften the points awarded to non-winners.
I will be rooting for all tour members but especially new stars struggling to move up in the ranks.
