If you’re looking for something different for your next golf outing or club function, custom branded belts from Gells Apparel can offer a unique alternative.
Richard and Ashley Perkin started Gells 10 years ago, creating apparel made for an active outdoor lifestyle with the couple’s lifelong mission to give back 5 percent of all sales directly to partner charities including breast cancer research, marine conservation and scholarships for military families.
Gells’ core product line features custom belts that are high in quality and moderately priced. Its most prominent partnership is with the NHL, offering branded belts for all 32 NHL teams plus heritage marks such as the Hartford Whalers or Quebec Nordiques.
The family-owned company has started expanding its belt line into the college market, this fall offering its popular Go-To Belt to a select number of partner universities. The initial roster of schools includes Ohio State, Washington State, Auburn, Utah and James Madison.
“After receiving requests from different institutions, we decided it was the right time to expand,†said Ashley Perkin, co-founder and head of marketing. “This will allow us to introduce the Gells brand to a broad and diverse new customer base, and we are confident they will be well-received.â€
Gells custom products extend beyond the NHL and college. The company has partnered with a number of different organizations including golf clubs, independent schools and youth athletic teams to create custom designs for belts and hats to include names and logos. Personalized packaging for bulk orders is available for golf outings, corporate events, schools or wedding and groomsmen gifts.
The Go-To belts are made with 1¼-inch-wide heavyweight cotton, double-stitched with grosgrain ribbon that features hi-resolution logos to ensure durability and a high-quality appearance. All belts are finished with a mahogany brown leather tip and Gells’ signature nickel polished brass slide buckle.
Each belt arrives in a reusable branded packaging tin, with prices ranging from $39.75 for youth sizes to $46.00 for adults.
“Our Go-To Belt is perfect for a day on the course, to the 19th hole and beyond,†said Richard Perkin.
One of its belts called “Sticks†features a ribbon of crossed golf clubs on a durable heavyweight nylon belt with its signature slide buckle for $39 to $44. Another is called “Golf Hole.â€
