The latest offering from Scotty Cameron is a limited-edition mallet putter dubbed the Phantom X 9.5 Triple Black. Designed with an extremely high moment of inertia, the club shares many of the dimensional qualities of the popular Phantom X 5.5 and Phantom X 11 models. Only this putter possesses a matte tour black finish.
The body is made of 303 stainless steel and fused with a 6061 aluminum flange-sole component that, according to Cameron, “defines” the club’s profile and enhances its stability and forgiveness. In addition, the club features unique alignment cues, in this case a custom engraving inspired by vintage muscle car pinstripes that are designed to frame the golf ball at address as three red dots on the topline mark the sweet spot.
“Each new line I create gives me the opportunity to gather feedback, make design improvements and roll out new models that incorporate these new thoughts, whether it’s a new neck, a new finish or new alignments,” Cameron said. “The Phantom X 9.5 Triple Black is one of those concepts. I gave it our tour black finish throughout, including the misted black anodized 6061 aluminum concept and the stainless-steel body.
“With its jet-black paint fill, I thought the classic car term ‘Triple Black’ fit. I also customized the milled sight dots on the topline with our signature translucent red for an extra bit of style.”
Available beginning Friday, these putters are being sold in three lengths – 33, 34 and 35 inches.
