Gel-Course Ace is the latest footwear offering to come out of the collaboration between Srixon and Asics. The waterproof and spikeless shoes come in versions for men and women golfers and are designed to be as stable as they are comfortable.
The company says much of that comfort comes from the use of a material called FlyteFoam, which is made to provide lightweight shock absorption. Rearfoot Gel cushioning helps in that regard, and so does the flexible mesh upper. In addition, ankle padding is used with the intent of providing a more custom fit.
Gel-Course Ace also relies on an internal molded heel counter to optimize both support and fit along with air mesh material at the vamp and an integrated quarter panel. Toe and lateral rubber wraps are included to bolster balance throughout the golf swing.
Then, there is the FG traction sole, with spikes placed exactly where technicians believe they do the most good.
“The Srixon/Asics partnership has been tremendous for both our brands,” said Mike Powell, president of sales and marketing at Srixon/Cleveland Golf/Xxio. “Asics is a huge global sports brand and widely recognized as the leader in performance footwear. We believe the new Gel-Course Ace will provide the legendary performance of Asics running shoes and the waterproof protection you need when conditions on the course aren’t perfect.”
