The recent rollout of the new Phantom X 12.5 means that Scotty Cameron’s popular putter line now boasts 10 modern mallet designs that are built around five different head styles.
“Every time we introduce a new putter line, I receive requests from tour players and dedicated golfers for additional setups and configurations,” Cameron said. “Phantom X 12.5 is the result of some of those.
“I added the low-bend shaft for extra toe flow and also designed a new alignment option by milling a single sight line down the center and painting it black for a very clean look from address. It really sets up nicely. Adding this new model also gave me the opportunity to make a left-handed version for the family as well.”
As is the case with other members of the Phantom X family, Cameron’s latest flat stick incorporates his multi-material construction methodology of combining 303 stainless steel (which is employed in the “wings” of the 12.5) and standard-milled, aircraft-grade 6061 aluminum (which is anodized black in a misted finish and used on the clubface) for better forgiveness as well as optimal weight distribution and improved sound and feel.
The Phantom X 12.5 also employs the line’s advanced stability weighting system with a pair of “customizable” stainless steel heel-toe weights.
