Engineers at Cobra Golf describe the new T-Rail clubs as the company’s first all-hollow iron-hybrid set, and they say these sticks combine the forgiveness of a Baffler hybrid with the precision of an iron, in part by fusing a hybrid shape with an iron face and top line.
That innovation is designed to give the clubs distance, forgiveness and accuracy. A low and deep center of gravity makes it easier to get golf balls airborne, those technicians aver, while the Baffler rails employed on the soles improve turf interaction. In addition, a high-strength, forged steel face is intended to enhance ball speed and distance on off-center hits, largely through the use of E9 face technology and a thin pocket that runs from heel to toe.
“T-Rail irons make it easy for beginners and golfers who have lost distance and control to gain the confidence needed to play better and have more fun,” says Tom Olsavsky, vice president of research and development for Cobra Golf. “Players who need max forgiveness and are looking for more distance will be amazed at how far and straight they hit these, even being able to get them airborne from tough lies.”
The men’s T-Rail graphite 7-piece combo set is available in a black/blue color combination and includes a 4-hybrid and 5-PW irons in right- and left-handed options. The women’s T-Rail features a black/lilac color pairing and comes with a 5-hybrid and 6-PW and SW irons.
