Leading golf shaft manufacturer KBS has announced the imminent arrival of its first wood shaft.
The new KBS TD Graphite wood shaft joins the company’s acclaimed iron, wedge, hybrid and putter shafts which between them have produced a total of 45 wins across all tours this season, including two major victories.
The product has been designed as a mid-launch/low-spin performance shaft to optimise performance and efficiency of spin and launch angles at a variety of swing speeds. It’s also designed to play lighter and stiffer than other graphite wood shafts on the market and provide superior feel. With its introduction, the company is rolling out its KBS Category Swing Speed System to fit players into shafts based on swing speeds alone – instead of weight and flex.
“I have been asked the question of when we were going to enter the wood shaft market for many years and my answer was always not until we were 100 percent happy with the product and we can make an even bigger impact with a full set of shafts throughout the bag,” said Kim Braly, director of research and development and tour operations for KBS. “We’ve worked tirelessly with our tour players and R&D team to perfect our first wood shaft which has all the characteristics of a KBS shaft.
“We’ve designed it to offer optimal spin rate and launch, which equals more power and distance on every shot with the driver and fairway woods.”
KBS now offers a range of 25 shafts with the KBS TD Graphite wood shaft designed to offer the same feel, efficiency and playability found in the company’s iron, wedge, hybrid and putter shafts.
The KBS TD Graphite shaft will be available in 40-80g weights in January 2020 at an MSRP of approximately £260.
