FootJoy has introduced a Hydroknit waterproof top for golfers who do not like wearing waterproof jackets but also hate to get wet.
The top is designed to fill the void that exists between a traditional knit garment and a waterproof jacket but still offers guaranteed protection from rain as well as the added comfort, breathability and versatility normally associated with a pullover.
The Hydroknit comes in a choice of three colour combinations – black with charcoal, navy with kelly green and sapphire with geranium – and features raglan sleeve construction for unrestricted movement around the shoulders, an elastic waistband and adjustable cuffs for proper fit and an inside zip pocket for your scorecard or phone.
Several of the company’s tour ambassadors have stated it is now the only waterproof they will put in their bags.
“You don’t even realise you have it on,” said Bernd Wiesberger, who recently finished third in the European Tour’s Race to Dubai. “It’s waterproof, it keeps you warm, it’s a good combination of everything.”
“It’s comfortable, it’s light and movable so for me it’s easy to swing in,” said past British Masters champion Paul Dunne. “I often don’t wear a jacket because they do feel like they restrict movement but this one feels like there’s no restriction at all, so it’s definitely something I can play in.”
The Hydroknit has a RRP of £180 and comes with a three-year waterproof guarantee. It is part of FootJoy’s innovative autumn/winter apparel collection which the company claims to be its most technologically advanced to date and also features a selection of waterproof jackets and trousers, fleece-quilted tops and wool-blend pullovers for both men and women.
It has been launched in conjunction with FootJoy’s marketing campaign, "Make Every Day Playable."
“We continue to be committed to producing innovative and stylish performance golf apparel and none more so than this (autumn/winter) range,” said Paul O’Hagen, the company’s European marketing manager. “ ‘Make Every Day Playable’ is our mantra at FootJoy and with exciting new technologies and colour palettes, this new collection will appeal to any golfer’s taste.”
