The Championship Course renovation at Poppy Ridge got underway May 1. In preparation for the renovation, 18 holes are now officially closed, and the nine-hole Composite golf course is officially open. This innovative Composite nine-hole concept will prove to be enjoyable for golfers of all skill levels.
The Composite Nine is routed through the southern portion of the property featuring dramatic views of the surrounding vineyards inspiring a sense of serenity and relaxation.
Play nine or 18 holes. Rounds can be booked through the golf shop or online, where you will be prompted during the reservation process to select nine or 18 holes accordingly.
The nine-hole course, which currently has a course record of 31, has evolved beautifully and will continue to improve as the new features mature. A few of the fairway bunkers and one green-side bunkers are in the process of being converted to grassy hollows. These bunkers are roped off and should be played as ‘Ground Under Repair.’
Feel free to retrieve your ball, but please do not play from these bunkers while we work towards the conversion to grassy hollows. A new hybrid Bermuda grass has been installed on the 2nd and 7th holes, which boasts many benefits including drought tolerance that will result in less irrigation.
The driving range is also open. So come on out and work on your swing. The chipping and putting greens have been reconstructed in first-class fashion and will reopen later this summer. The Grill is also open with normal operating hours.
