Alamo resident Mike Perchak has become the latest 'Mr. Valley Amateur.'
Perchak followed up a sizzling opening round 6-under 66 at Winchester CC with a final round 73 to win the annual NCGA Valley Amateur Championship by five shots over runner-up Jerry Ledzinski.
Last year, Perchak won the Valley Am title thanks in part to an all-time NCGA record 18-hole score of 12-under 61 at Dragonfly GC. The 33-year-old becomes the fourth player to go back-to-back at the event, joining Steven Chung (2009-09), Nick Randazzo (2015-16) and Jason Anthony (2020-21).
"It's an honor to go back-to-back," Perchak said. "I am absolutely thrilled. Any time you play in an NCGA tournament, you definitely get up for it.”
In the Senior championship, Brentwood resident Chris Miller wrapped up a wire-to-wire win, carding a final round 1-over 73 to come in at 143 to defeat runner-up Bill Bunce by five strokes. Just a week prior, Miller had won the Santa Clara County Senior.
