The Colorado Golf Association is excited to host our annual Caddie Summit on March 5th at Cherry Hills Country Club, bringing together more than 15 clubs from across the state. This event serves as a collaborative forum for caddie leaders to collaborate, share valuable data insights, and discuss the overall health of caddying in Colorado.
At the heart of the summit is our commitment to growing and sustaining youth caddie programs, ensuring they remain a viable pathway to leadership development and scholarship opportunities. Through interactive discussions and presentations, attendees will explore key topics such as recruitment strategies, training best practices, generating loop demand, and sustainable financial models that benefit both caddies and club members.
The highlight of the event will be the presentation of our annual caddie survey results, offering a comprehensive look at youth caddying trends across the state. By sharing this information, we aim to provide caddie leaders with the insights and tools needed to address challenges, implement best practices, and enhance their programs. Additionally, an Evans Scholarship update will explore how Colorado caddies are competing on a national level for this life-changing full tuition and housing award, covering acceptance trends, the profiles of successful applicants, and strategies for clubs to better support their caddies in securing future scholarship opportunities.
To support the continued success of these programs, each attending caddie club will receive a $750 grant from the Colorado Golf Association. This funding helps ensure that clubs can maintain strong caddie initiatives that foster character, work ethic, and educational opportunities.
In 2024, the Colorado Golf Foundation and Colorado Golf Association invested over $16,000, which served over 650 youth caddies across the state, reinforcing our continued commitment to youth caddie development and sustaining strong programs. By uniting club leaders, sharing innovative strategies, and providing an effective forum through this event for continued collaboration, the Colorado Golf Association can proudly boast that youth caddying in Colorado will continue to thrive for the next wave of loopers on their journey with the best first job ever.
