On December 11, 2024, the CGA held its fourth quarter board meeting. During that meeting, two new board members, Karen Spaulding and Laura Stuto, were unanimously approved.
Karen Spaulding’s love of golf began as a teen when her dad taught her the game. After moving to Colorado- a CU Boulder Alum – she continued playing golf - in a Friday Afternoon Club summer league at Applewood (AWGC) for the past 25 years and regularly at West Woods Golf Course since moving to Arvada in 2000. Since 2023, Spaulding has played in the AWGC Ladies League and has been its Rules Chair since 2024. She is the 2024 AWGC Ladies Co-Champion.

In 2023, she became the Assistant Coach of Women’s Golf at MSU Denver and has been the Head Girls' Golf Coach at Denver North High School since 2022.
Laura has also served on the Board of MH360. This community-based nonprofit empowers first-generation post-secondary-bound students with access to essential Out-of-School Time (OST) resources and opportunities from 6th grade through age 24.
