Since 1963, we’ve celebrated Older Americans Month in May (though its name has changed a few times), recognizing the contributions of past and present older persons. Did you know there’s an Older Adult Services page on our website, with an online events calendar, community and library resource links, and a regularly updated blog?
Hint: You can find the Older Adult Services page by going to our website at denverlibrary.org, then scrolling down to the Featured Services section, clicking Older Adult Services, then the “learn more” link.
May also hosts Preservation Week, which raises awareness of the role cultural institutions play in preserving physical and digital materials last for the future, and how they can help in making informed decisions about collections that honor and reflect the rich diversity of community and cultural identities.
Hint: You can explore Denver Public Library’s Special Collections and Archives digitized materials at history.denverlibrary.org. Or, in person, you can visit Blair-Caldwell African American Research Library or the 1st floor Special Collections Reading Room at the Central Library.
