While the Fourth of July has been celebrated since the Revolutionary War era, it wasn’t a federal holiday for a number of years… and not a paid federal holiday until even later. Using the library’s online databases, see if you can find when the Independence Day became a federal holiday.

We also celebrate Disability Pride Month in July, recognizing the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act in July 1990. What two cities celebrated the anniversary with Disability Pride Parades and in what months did they celebrate them? Using the library’s newspaper resources, see if you can find the cities and months.
