The modernisation of ATC systems, in particular in combination with all harmonisation programs, rises the degree of complex IT installations. Only the use of the respective systems can expand airspace capacities, which are necessary to manage the growing number of flight movements. Where once analogue techniques were deployed, now data centres are used to provide us with all necessary information. Therefore, an optimal system control is indispensable. Because installations have to be operated, administrated, and properly protected in times of cyber security – and they should also provide reliable redundancies.
KVM systems from G&D are a proven solution in the ATC and enables flexible IT access, comprehensive redundancy concepts, fail safety and cyber security. It extends and switches computer signals thus allowing the remote operation of computers without any latency and at best video quality. The computers can still be accessed in real-time from control rooms, air traffic control centers or remote towers. Today, it’s hard to imagine mission-critical sectors such as airspace surveillance without KVM. Here, G&D systems optimise the IT infrastructure and create ideal working conditions for both Air Traffic Controllers and technicians.
The company offers in-depth expertise in building KVM infrastructures for mission-critical applications. At World ATM Congress from 26 – 28 October 2021, interested ANSPs and integrators will be able to get personal advice on their individual IT solutions at booth 433. In addition, Jochen Bauer, Head of Sales and Marketing at G&D, will give a presentation on Aviation Safety and Increased Cyber Security and how KVM supports the shift towards more automated ANS at the World ATM Congress. Save the date: 26. October 2021 | 5:15 pm – 5:35 pm at the Frequentis Aviation Arena.
