In the ALA Midwinter Virtual Exhibit Hall, Midwest Tape will showcase some of the innovative products and services they have created by working exclusively with Libraries.
Ann Ford, Sales Director, shared the company’s perspective on serving Libraries. “We’re Here for Libraries. We are champions for their mission and are proud to help them support their communities. Our team’s focus each and every day is on creating the best experiences for Public Libraries and the Patrons they serve.”
The beta program for the company’s revolutionary hoopla Flex service continues to expand as Libraries discover the benefits of transferring their legacy One-User One-Copy digital collections to one hoopla Digital experience—without platform fees. Ford shared a program update: “Working closely with our beta partners, we are all thrilled with how easy it has been for patrons to borrow, place holds when needed, and explore the expanded product assortment.” With perpetual and metered hoopla Flex items adding to hoopla’s robust Instant collections, Libraries are now able to offer more than one million titles to their Patrons.
Representatives manning the company’s virtual exhibit are also sharing information on the successful hoopla Bonus Borrows program, offering Patrons access to hundreds of titles one month per quarter free to Libraries, and costing Patrons zero borrows.
Librarians working with physical media can check out new releases at the virtual booth, including the latest Binge Box® video collections. “Binge Box is another great example of how we listen to the needs of Librarians, and it’s really taken off,” said Ford. “Throughout the pandemic and the accompanying shifts in Library service hours, Libraries have shared that Binge Box titles have been especially popular and convenient for their Curbside and other limited-contact programs.”
